Comprehensive Vision and Eye Health Examinations

Regular eye exams are an invaluable tool in maintaining healthy eyes by detecting and preventing disease. Some diseases develop slowly without causing pain or vision loss. Early detection of any problems can reduce the risk of further harm and allow for a choice of treatment options. The entire exam process can take an hour depending on the complexity of the problem. Each patient will be evaluated with a refraction, slit lamp, intraocular pressure and a retinal exam.

Pediatric Eye Care

We take pride in maintaining the vision of our younger patients in an environment that is lighthearted and fun. We want to insure the good sight, vision, and eye health for the rest of your child's life and take a preventative approach to his/her general health and eye health. We will work with your child's primary care physician to help keep his/her eyes healthy. It is important that all of our pediatric patients have healthy and efficient visual systems to help make visual demands of learning in school easier and fun.

Contact Lens Exams

Thanks to the advances in optical technology, almost everyone is a candidate for contact lens use. This includes patients with astigmatism and also those who prefer bifocal or multifocal lenses. At our office, we offer a comprehensive array of contact lenses to suit each individual patient's needs. We offer daily disposables, extended wear soft lenses to gas permeable contact lenses. We offer regular and custom lens services for both healthy and difficult to fit patients.

Ultra-Wide Field Retinal Imaging/Photography

We offer the latest technology by Optos to provide you with a non-invasive, low-intensity laser scan of the retina. This creates a high resolution photograph of the inside of your eye which will help us document, review, and compare your ocular health over time. We will use this ultra-wide field imaging to screen for eye diseases and improve our ability to view the internal part of your eye at a much higher resolution than conventional methods. This technology helps us see in greater detail conditions such as macular degeneration, glaucoma, retinal detachments, hypertensive and diabetic retinopathy (all of which can lead to loss of vision) at early stages. Dilation with medicated eye drops is not required with this new technology.

I think these are the only two places we need to change the wording. I'd also like to replace the three images on that page with the ones below. The first one can be captioned Increased View with Optomap Technology, second one can be captioned Healthy Retina, and the third one can be captioned Retina with Horseshoe Tear.

Keratoconic Contact Lens Fittings

Keratoconus is unlike any other vision problem; it is a unique degenerative disorder which causes structural changes to the cornea of the eye. The cornea begins to thin due to weakening of the collagen fibers in the corneal tissue. As the condition progresses, it is necessary to correct the vision with a rigid, gas-permeable lens, also known as an RGP lens. Dr. Chandler has extensive experience in fitting keratoconic patients with these lenses.

Co-management for LASIK and Cataract Surgery

We are proud to provide our patients with the convenient option of co-management for both Lasik and cataract surgery. We work closely with the most qualified surgeons in Las Vegas to provide the best comprehensive treatment, allowing our patients a safe and speedy recovery.

Dry Eye Treatment

Our eyes need constant moisture, or lubrication, to function properly, see clearly, and remain comfortable. When your eyes aren’t able to produce enough tears, or produce inadequate tears, you develop dry eye syndrome. This results in discomfort, stinging, or even burning. Our eye doctors can diagnose and treat dry eye syndrome based on your individual needs.

Treatment of Ocular Allergies

If you suffer from ocular allergies on a regular basis, whether it is due to the environment or because of a particular season, obtaining professional care can help more than you know. With the right medications, you can control your eye-related symptoms or even eliminate them completely. If you would like to learn more about treating eye allergies and other related symptoms and conditions, please call our office today.

Glaucoma Screening

Glaucoma, the leading cause of blindness and visual impairment in the United States, is an eye disease that can lead to a permanent loss of vision. Glaucoma generally provides no warning signs or symptoms of disease, making testing an important part of a full vision exam.

Macular Degeneration Screening

Macular degeneration is a chronic eye disease that can severely impact vision. The most common type is called dry macular degeneration. The less common wet form is more severe and can be very disabling. Today, through early detection and treatment, eye care professionals are better able to manage this disease.

Diabetic Screening

In the United States, diabetes is the leading cause of blindness in people under the age of 65. While it can cause cataracts and glaucoma, diabetes can also cause the devastating eye disease known as diabetic retinopathy. Diabetic retinopathy is a complication of diabetes involving abnormal blood vessels in the retina of the eye. As part of our diabetic screening process, we will perform a comprehensive eye exam that includes a careful examination of your retina.
